Perfume Creation Director Francis Kurkdjian is behind the new version. It keeps the original Sauvage signature — Calabrian bergamot — but moves into a deeper composition: Indonesian patchouli, Atlas cedar, Virginia cedar and Madagascan vetiver.

At the center is Vietnamese oud wood, never before in the Sauvage line. For Kurkdjian, the Extrait is the "ultimate expression": "It's all about balance and structure." He describes the result as an "olfactory tattoo" — a scent that leaves an enduring imprint on the skin.

The Trend

The 2026 season points in one direction: more concentrated, more textural, deeper. Extrait and parfum strengths are moving into the men's category, oud is no longer reserved for niche houses, and established signatures are getting darker rewrites.
